
Today we’re joined by Dr. Stacy Blain, Founder and CEO of Concarlo Therapeutics.Stacy has spent more than 30 years working in cell cycle and cancer biology, including two decades as a tenured professor and NIH-funded researcher at SUNY Downstate. She then made the transition from academia into entrepreneurship, founding Concarlo to develop new approaches to treating drug-resistant cancers.At Concarlo, Stacy and the team are focused on p27 biology and developing their LOCKTAC approach to target CDK2, CDK4 and CDK6, with an initial focus on drug-resistant breast cancer.Today, we’ll talk about Stacy’s journey from academic scientist to biotech founder, what led her to make that transition, the science behind Concarlo, and what she’s learned from building a company around her own research.
