Ayane Lage is the author of Missing Me: A memoir of post-partum psychosis and the long road back, her own first-hand account of an often-misunderstood and currently very hot topic, as we sat down to record this on the same week as the internet and major news outlets are tirelessly reporting and speculating on the case of Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts mother who strangled her three young children in what prosecutors call a pre-meditated act and what her lawyer and many women across the world are calling an act of post-partum psychosis.  Ayana’s story had a very different ending – she was lucky enough to be here to share her story with us, and we’re lucky to have her here to share it.
