# SATURDAY MORNING SURF ZONE FORECAST FOR SOUTH FLORIDAGood morning! Here's your Saturday and Sunday surf zone forecast for South Florida beaches.Starting with today, expect mostly sunny skies across the region with very high UV levels, so definitely bring that sunscreen. We're looking at warm temperatures in the low to mid nineties, with light southwest to south winds running ten to fifteen miles per hour. Now let's talk about the water. Surf heights are modest across the board, ranging from a foot or less down in Naples up to two to three feet in Palm Beach. Water temperatures are pleasant, sitting in the low eighties for most areas, with Palm Beach running around eighty degrees. Here's where we need to give you some important safety information. A high rip current risk is in effect through this evening at the Palm Beach beaches. That means life-threatening rip currents are likely in the surf zone there. Further south in the Broward and Miami-Dade areas, we're looking at moderate rip current risk, meaning life-threatening rip currents are possible. Down in Naples, the risk remains low. Remember, even in low risk areas, rip currents often occur near groins, jetties, reefs, and piers, so stay aware of your surroundings.Moving into Sunday, conditions change noticeably. A weather system will bring increased cloud cover and rain chances across the entire region. We're expecting showers and thunderstorms to develop, with high storm potential in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Naples, and moderate potential in Palm Beach. Temperatures will cool down a few degrees to the upper seventies and low eighties. Winds will shift to the north and become lighter. The good news for water safety is that rip current risk decreases to low across all beaches as conditions shift.Surf will stay small on Sunday, one to two feet for most areas, with minimal activity in Naples. No waterspout risk is expected anywhere, but if you're heading to the beach Sunday, plan around those thunderstorm chances and bring an umbrella or rain jacket. That's your South Florida beach forecast.
