GAME 6 – CAROLINA HURRICANES 3 VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 0 (CAR wins 4-2)

Recap: The Golden Knights were facing elimination and needed a victory in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final to stay alive. Carolina struck first a few minutes into the game. The Golden Knights killed off two first penalties to hold the Hurricanes lead at 1-0. Vegas began the middle frame on the power play but failed to find the back of the net. Late in the period Carolina scored to take a 2-0 in the intermission. The Golden Knights struggled to create shots but had a great power play chance but Jack Eichel hit the crossbar. With a minute remaining in Game 6 the Hurricanes added an empty net goal. The Hurricanes defeat the Golden Knights 3-0 and capture their second Stanley Cup trophy in team history. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: It just wasn’t to be on this night. Carolina came out hot and Brandon Bussi along with a whirlwind of puck luck kept the Golden Knights out all night. It’s hard to believe after what we all witness for the last 2 months, but the Hurricanes were simply a better team.
