The Substance (2024)

This is my 62nd episode and my theme for April is Beauty is a Beast, Exploring beauty standards through the lens of horror. The Substance was primarily inspired by writer-director Coralie Fargeat’s personal struggles with body image, the societal pressure on women to remain young, and the feeling of being "erased" after turning 50.
