The House of Evil
A young couple who move into a beautiful old house in upstate New York, discover that something inside seems capable of doing far more than simply frightening its occupants, in Dan's first story. As the years pass, unexplained footsteps, violent disturbances, apparitions, accidents, and disturbing changes in the people who live there leave them wondering whether or not the house itself is slowly destroying everyone who stays too long. Then, two professional puppeteers living above their basement theater in Greenwich Village begin sharing their old townhouse with phantom footsteps, the scent of mysterious perfume, and an elegantly dressed stranger who appears and disappears without explanation.
