The Conflict of the Kings * The Eastern Coalition: Four kings—Amraphel of Shinar, Arioch of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer of Elam, and Tidal of Goiim—crushed a 12-year subjugation of local cities after a rebellion in the 13th year. * The Local Alliance: Five kings from the Dead Sea region—Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim, and Zoar (Bela)—fought back in the Valley of Siddim (the Salt Sea).  * The Defeat: The local kings lost after many fell into the valley's tar (bitumen) pits; the victors plundered Sodom and Gomorrah and captured Abram's nephew, Lot, who lived in Sodom.
