Jesus And Our Money

Money can be an uncomfortable subject, especially when it comes to the church. We can easily wonder whether conversations about money are really about generosity, or whether they are simply about getting people to give more. But the Bible does not shy away from the subject. Jesus talked about money, possessions, greed, generosity, and contentment repeatedly. The question is not simply, “How much should I give?” A better question may be, “How can I faithfully steward everything God has given me?” In this final episode of our Jesus in the Everyday series, Tyler and Zachary talk about money as an area of discipleship. If Jesus is truly Lord of our lives, that includes our bank accounts, possessions, spending habits, saving, generosity, and attitudes toward what we own. The goal is not simply to give more money. It is to become the kind of people who recognize that everything we have ultimately belongs to God and who learn to live with open hands.
