Rivian has quoted several of our Community members $400 to remove and reinstall aftermarket accessories so that they can perform work on their Rivian. Is this fair? Rivian has also added verbiage to their Warranty Guide stating that, “…damage or the malfunction of the vehicle or any of its component parts is not covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty when caused by the following: - Using or installing parts or performing modifications not approved by Rivian. …” This is in direct conflict with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, which states that, “Warranties cannot be voided merely due to the use of aftermarket parts or services. Manufacturers are required to prove that the non-original part or service was the direct cause of the defect to deny warranty claims.” Check out this link. https://www.autocare.org/docs/default...
