On our journey toward wisdom, one of the most vulnerable parts of us is the heart. It is easily tempted, distracted, and discouraged, making it essential that we guard it well. In this sermon, Pastor Donald walks through Proverbs 4:20–27 and shares practical, biblical ways to protect your heart and keep your life on the path of wisdom.
Last week we learned that the fear of the Lord is the trailhead to wisdom. This week, Proverbs 3:1-8 teaches us that trusting the Lord is the compass that keeps us on the way of wisdom, even when competing voices seek to lead us astray.
Before we can grow in wisdom, we need to know where wisdom begins. In Proverbs 1:1-7, Solomon points us to the trailhead of wisdom and shows us why the fear of the Lord is the foundation of a wise life.
Hear from one of our church members and seminary student, Hosea Riamei.
In a world where injustice and violence often seem to dominate the moment, it can feel like evil has the upper hand. But the message of Nahum and the hope of Scripture is clear: evil may rise for a time, but it will not reign forever. This sermon walks through the downfall of Nineveh and points us to the certainty of God’s final justice and lasting hope.
A Mother’s Day sermon from Luke 1:46–55 focused on Mary’s Magnificat and her example of faith, praise, and trust in God amid uncertainty. This message emphasizes how a life shaped by God’s Word naturally overflows into worship, gratitude, and testimony in everyday life. It calls believers to let their hearts be filled with Scripture so their lives point others to Christ.
In Nahum 2, we are given a vivid prophetic picture of the fall of Nineveh and the judgment of God against a proud and violent empire. This sermon looks at a theme that runs through all of Scripture, the danger and destruction of human revenge and the perfection of God’s justice. From the stories of Joab, Absalom, and David in Samuel and Kings, we see that revenge never truly fixes injustice. It only spreads it. It damages the person who receives it and the one who carries it out. Human justice, even when it feels justified, is still limited by human sin.Nahum 2 shows us something very different. God’s justice is complete, righteous, and unstoppable. Through prophetic images of siege warfare, flooding, and collapse, Nahum describes the fall of Nineveh in 612 B.C., a city that once seemed untouchable. In this message, we walk through that scene of judgment and then step back and ask what it means for us today. God does not ignore evil, and He will not clear the guilty. His justice is not cruelty; It is perfect moral judgment carried out without failure or corruption. This passage also confronts us personally. It calls us away from vengeance, fear, and pride, and toward humility, repentance, and trust in God’s rule over every nation and every life.
When the weight of evil and oppression feels overwhelming, one question rises up: how long will this last? In Nahum 1:9–2:2, we see that God is not absent—He is patient, but there comes a moment when He says, “It’s time.” Oppression is temporary, but God’s deliverance is certain.
