Fed Decision Day Brings Rate Relief as Builder Confidence Drops

Mortgage pricing improved by about 28 basis points, while the 10-year Treasury sat near 4.95. Builder confidence fell to 32, current sales dropped to 35, and buyer traffic stayed at 23. Retail sales rose 1.2% in August, but mortgage applications fell 4.1%. Purchase applications dropped 1%, and refinances fell 9% for the week and 65% year over year.
