Irish Flood

On the eve of The Open Championship, this episode of “Quiet Please” is a conversation with Ronan Flood, longtime caddie for two-time “Champion Golfer of the Year” Padraig Harrington. Ronan rarely gives interviews, so this is an opportunity to gain insights from the bagman for the World Golf Hall of Famer. Champions Tour dominance; how he got his start; major pressure and highlights; this year’s Open; a shared experience with Rory McIlroy’s caddie, Harry; his version of their memorable dinner with Phil Mickelson and Bones; who he thinks one of the best caddies ever to loop is; and, the backstory on Sean O’Teachfrancach (as John is dubbed in Ireland), as the two caddied together in the ’16 Rio Olympics. This episode is filled with friendly banter from start to finish.
