We had the pleassure of having David Hewlett, who you might know as Doctor Rodney McKay from the sci-fi show Stargate Atlantis, in our HQ during the Prague Comic Con weekend. We talked about 3D printing in education and filmmaking, about 3D printing in STEM, which is a topic close to David's heart, and about many other topics us 4 nerds found exciting! :)
AI is everywhere now, but are there any real practical uses for it in 3D printing? Are we developing any AI assisted tools? How are creators on Printables using AI to create models? We tackled these and many more questions in our latest Prusa Podcast.
We nerded out with Fotis, Wekster and Fixumdude about creating models for 3D printing. Our surprise guest Grant from 3d Musketeers shared his thoughts on the new features in PrusaSlicer 2.6.1. And we chatted about other recent 3DP news.
We talked with Ben and Garth from the Meshtastic project, we also discussed the new self-extinguishing filament from the Prusament team.
Thomas Rahm and Daniel Schubert worked on better support structures for 3D printing. Our implementation of Organic Supports in PrusaSlicer is an evolution of the tree supports by Thomas, which are significantly improved tree supports originally from Cura. We would like to thank the Ultimaker Cura team, Thomas Rahm and Daniel Schubert for the effort they have invested into the problem. Thomas and Daniel accepted our invitation to visit our headquarters, this interview was recorded during their visit.
