The Philadelphia 76ers have hired Mike Gansey to be their new President of Basketball Operations, sources have confirmed to PHLY Sports. Gansey will work in collaboration with Bob Myers to lead the Sixers' basketball operations department in the wake of team's firing of Daryl Morey after the Sixers' second round less to the New York Knicks earlier this month. Gansey comes to the Sixers from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Gansey had been in Cleveland since the 2011-12 season, starting off as a basketball operations assistant, before eventually moving up to become the General Manager of Cleveland's G-League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge, before becoming the Assistant General Manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017, and the General Manager in 2022. In Cleveland, Gansey was working underneath President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
