John Wells - September 20th, 2026 - The Teachings of Jesus Christ in Mark Chapter 10 Jesus taught in Parables, in Principles, and in Spiritual Paradoxes 1 Corinthians 2:14 “ The natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God for they are folly (foolishness) to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned ” Jesus taught Spiritual Paradoxes Two shall be one flesh - Marriage Rich shall become poor – Eternal Life Loss shall become gain – Discipleship The servant shall become Ruler – Humility Jesus warned us about : Our Deception Hardness of heart Lust for possessions Lack of child like faith Short term thinking 2. Our Decisions Accept the Lord Jesus Christ or reject him Seek comfort, ease and financial security or be a true disciple of Jesus Christ 3. Our Discernment Who can be saved ? Jesus said “ with God all things are possible” Greatness vs Humility Suffering before Glory - Jesus’s teaching : Marriage – Two shall be one Covenant relationship – joined by God - one man with one women Life long union - Two become one – for life – not to be separated 2. Eternal Life – The rich become poor God must have first place in my heart Conviction, Repentance, Surrender , Faith , Forgiveness & Contentment 3. Discipleship – Loss becomes gain We have left all and followed you – let go of everything You will receive one hundred fold – rich spiritual blessing 4. Humility – the servant of all become the ruler The greatest is the one who serves – even the Son of Man … First shall be last and the last shall be the first Mark 10:31
