“How Do You Talk to an Angel” by The Heights (f/ Jim Logrando and Trisha Novy)

The Heights was a short-lived TV show about a diverse seven-piece band that aired on Fox in the early 90s. Each episode ended with a music video that kinda encapsulated the whole episode, and at the end of the pilot episode, a young actor named Jamie Walters sung a song so powerful that it would be the end of the road for, well, “End of the Road” from Boyz II Men’s epic 13 week run at #1 on the Hot 100. “How Do You Talk to an Angel” would then become the show’s theme song by the third episode, and this fictional band was topping the charts. Funny enough, the show is called The Heights, and the band lives in an undisclosed place called “The Heights”, but they never actually say that it’s the band’s name on the show. It’s unclear if the band even had a name. It didn’t matter. Despite the song’s massive success, the show was canceled after 13 episodes, and we’re left to wonder how many more hits the show could’ve spawned if Aaron Spelling hadn’t given up on it.
