What initially appeared to be a troubling missing-person case eventually revealed an unimaginable betrayal: the two friends Skylar trusted had planned and carried out her murder. For months, Eddy and Shoaf maintained a false account of what happened that night. The case finally broke when Shoaf confessed and implicated Eddy.
