What happens when a heart stops, circulation fails, and a person later returns with memories from the edge of death? Modern resuscitation medicine has created a rare scientific opportunity: survivors of cardiac arrest can be interviewed, while researchers examine medical records, brain activity, oxygen levels, and—in a small number of studies—hidden audiovisual targets designed to test claims of out-of-body perception.This episode follows the work of cardiac-arrest researchers including Sam Parnia, Pim van Lommel, Bruce Greyson, Jimo Borjigin, and their collaborators.
