We had a lovely opportunity on Monday evening to step inside the church tower at St Lawrence in Alton. The bell ringers gave us a tour of the bells and a number of demonstrations. We learnt about the history and the techniques employed by the ringers. The mathematical side of it when written on paper looks fascinating, almost like patterns in woven cloth.
I have been building a modular rack for awhile now and whilst it's not fully built, I can already get some decent sounds out of it. It's very jammable, which is important, to be able to create mostly on the fly. Tools used were Oxi One, Oxi Coral, Make Noise Mimeophon, Minifuse 4 and all recorded into Bitwig for arrangement purposes.
I am moving my audio podcast over to RSS Blue which I mistakingly called Wavlake in the podcast itself although to be fair, I do use both platforms. My cast is about making electronic music using predominantly but not exclusively, the iPad and I review (or mess around really) the various AUv3 plugins that provide the sounds, the effects and the MIDI data for sequencing and producing the music you might listen to on Fountain etc in the future. Today we experiment with a synth and some effects plus monkeys make great instruments. Did you know that? No animals were harmed, it’s ok….
