Big 12 Squad Preview: BYU on UPSET ALERT, Utah Utes vs Kansas, WVU vs Arizona, Contenders Debate

Big 12 contenders face a tricky weekend slate as injuries and unpredictable matchups threaten to shake up the conference race. Can BYU overcome a mounting list of key injuries to keep pace, or will Iowa State seize the advantage? The debate heats up as West Virginia eyes an upset over Arizona, Utah is labeled the league’s most balanced squad by NFL scouts, and Kansas State looks to spoil Houston’s momentum. The conversation focused on whether Texas Tech’s offensive woes will derail its campaign, how Baylor’s resurgence under DJ Lagway is shifting the balance of power, and how conference-wide parity in the NIL and transfer portal era is changing the game. With crucial showdowns including UCF’s challenging defense visiting Oklahoma State and Kansas traveling to face Utah’s formidable home field, panelists raise the question: which Big 12 dark horse will emerge from chaos, and who gets left behind as the playoff picture takes shape?
