Dallas Stars Depth Faces Early Test with Matt Duchene on LTIR - Will they RISE against St. Louis?

Dallas Stars open their NHL season facing adversity as Matt Duchene lands on LTIR, shaking up the roster for a crucial matchup against the St. Louis Blues. Can Jake Oettinger maintain his dominant record in goal, or will the Blues’ heavy forecheck cause early problems? Joey Erickson outlines the new line combinations, potential impact of key role players like Arttu Huru, Joel Kiviranta, and Sam Steel, and what the Stars' bottom six must do to cover Duchene’s absence. Erickson breaks down the Blues’ strengths—highlighting Robert Thomas, Mason McTavish, and a big, physical defense—but urges fans to watch for the Stars’ rush attack and aggressive power play with Harley and Haskinen quarterbacking. With the American Airlines Center buzzing and a pivotal Central Division back-to-back underway, the show explores if Dallas’ reworked depth can hold up and keep their early playoff hopes alive. Will the Stars set the tone for a resilient 84-game campaign?
