Never doubt the fight in these Orioles. Baltimore looked dead in the water against rookie right-hander Andrew Painter, then erupted for a four-run seventh inning to steal a wild 6-4 win over the Phillies on Friday night. The O’s opened hot, with Dylan Beavers doubling and Pete Alonso crushing a homer to tie the game at 2 in the first. Then the offense went quiet for a stretch as Painter settled in and Baltimore searched for a breakthrough. That breakthrough came in the seventh — and it was loud. Christian Encarnacion-Strand stayed scorching hot with a huge two-run double into the left-center gap, and Gunnar Henderson followed with a clutch two-run triple off Tim Mayza to put the game away. That rally flipped the night, ignited the crowd, and gave the Orioles a statement series-opening win. On the mound, Brandon Young had his toughest outing in a while, allowing four earned runs and giving up home runs to Trea Turner and J.T. Realmuto. But Baltimore’s offense answered, and the bullpen helped finish the job.
