Todd Wade's diagnosis of the Charlotte breakdowns is the most optimistic thing anybody has said this week, and it isn't spin. "A lot of it was mental. So I guess it didn't really matter whether Charlotte or someone else — you're still making the mental error." If it were a talent problem you'd need players you don't have time to go get. A mental problem is a week's work. His conclusion: "If we put that together for this game, I feel really good about it."2. There has been no plus-one run game at Ole Miss this season, because Trinidad Chambliss hasn't run the football — and that's a choice, not a limitation. You don't put your quarterback on the ground up thirty against Charlotte. Wade goes further than protecting him: "With someone like Trinidad, you can put him in an empty set and run the ball all day. You're taking an extra guy out of the box, putting just linemen matched up." Against a fast, free-releasing front, that's a real answer.3.
