PREVIEW: LA Kings legendary analyst Jim Fox joins to preview the season and opener vs the Avalanche

The LA Kings begin a new era as Quinton Byfield steps into the top center role and Drew Doughty claims the captaincy. With Peter Laviolette behind the bench, can LA’s revamped offense and high-tempo strategy finally turn special teams from liability to strength? The quest for more scoring, a faster pace, and a reimagined blue line takes center stage as young players like Brandt Clarke and Alex Turcotte face heightened expectations. Eddie Garcia and long time Kings TV analyst Jim Fox break down training camp revelations, key assistant coaching hires (including Phil Housley and Ray Whitney), and how newcomers Mats Zuccarello and Erik Haula might spark the Kings’ power play. The duo preview the daunting opening stretch against contenders like the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights, and debate whether LA’s mix of veteran leadership and youth can deliver playoff results. The Kings’ 60th season starts with urgency, opportunity, and high stakes.00:00 Kings Season Preview & Coaching Changes10:12 Byfield, Doughty, Clarke: Key Players Step Up23:21 Season Opener vs Avalanche & Broadcast UpdatesSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Butcher BoxIf you're looking for an easier way to get great meals on the table, give ButcherBox a try.
