We are grateful to Megan Alderman for be our guest speaker this morning! Megan is a member of First Friends. She is a pathologist by day, mom and grassroots organizer by night. Rachel pastors at Valley Mills Friends Meeting in Indianapolis and also serves as a spiritual director, accompanying people through conversations about faith, life, and paying attention to God's presence. She is passionate about helping people encounter God with honesty, curiosity, and hope. Rachel lives in Indianapolis with her spouse and their four children. First Friends holds a special place in Rachel's story. It was the first Quaker meeting she attended, where she quietly explored Quaker worship by joining online, slipping into unprogrammed worship, or sitting in the back before making a quick exit. Today we give our thanks to Kelly Kellum for giving the sermon! Kelly has served as General Secretary of Friends United Meeting since 2018, helping strengthen connections and coordinate ministry among Friends worldwide. Before this role, he spent 28 years in pastoral ministry and also served as a Stewardship Consultant with Everence Financial Services. Kelly has held leadership positions with both Friends World Committee for Consultation Section of the Americas and Friends United Meeting. He and his wife, Kathleen Hartney, have been married for more than 34 years and enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and gathering with family and friends. A member of High Point Friends Meeting, Kelly also enjoys woodworking and continues to pursue the craft with enthusiasm and patience.
