Tau First Sphere of Expansion | Warhammer 40K Lore

In our Warhammer 40K lore dive episode 76, we explore the First Sphere of T’au Expansion, the centuries-long Great Expansion that transformed a recently unified species into an interstellar empire. Driven by the Greater Good and coordinated through the caste system, the T’au established their first colonies and seven new Septs, developing distinct centres of military power, science, industry and diplomacy. We follow their earliest encounters with alien peoples, including the tragic Poctroon, the psychic Nicassar and the Kroot, whose alliance was forged through a shared war against the Orks. Those same Orks would teach the young empire a harsher lesson, as failed diplomacy gave way to the Campaign of Cleansing and the realisation that some peoples would be conquered rather than persuaded.
