What Does it Mean to Fear the Lord? If you’re outside of the kingdom and family of God, you need to fear His judgement. God’s power and Holiness are nothing to disdain or disrespect. His word makes the eternal consequences of rejecting His offer of love and forgiveness through His son Jesus Christ very clear. Okay. So that addresses those that aren’t Christians, what about those that are? Are we told to fear God as well? Yes. But it’s a different kind of fear. The fear of God for a child of God, is no longer the fear of judgement and eternal separation from a loving and all-powerful God. It’s reverence and respect for His Holiness, an overwhelming sense of gratefulness for His unconditional love, and the deep desire not to hurt or disappoint Him. Our love and reverence for God should be more than enough to keep us from sin. But unfortunately, that’s not always the case. Join us as we take a deeper look into what it means to fear The Lord.
