Every now and then, I see the same scary stat get thrown around. “70% of small businesses fail within the first five years.” I don’t know who started this, but it’s usually said with the same typical Kiwi certainty of those non-players who could coach the AB’s to a World Cup or slot one from the sideline. But because I am slightly unwell, I started trying to figure out where that statistic even came from and if I could find it.
