Over in Brookside, the fortieth annual Brookside Art Annual is wrapping up today with over one hundred seventy juried artists displaying their work. The show runs until five o'clock this evening at the intersection of sixty-third and Brookside Boulevard. If you haven't made it out yet, now's the time to catch some incredible local talent and support our arts community.Also happening today near Town Center Plaza, the Spring Chick Event continues with more than one hundred local vendors, makers, and boutiques offering everything from shopping to food and drink trucks. It's a great way to support local businesses and find something special.Down at the Power and Light District, they're celebrating Fiesta de Mayo today starting at eleven o'clock in the morning at KC Live. It's a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture and community spirit that makes Kansas City special.For our sports fans, the Kansas City Royals are hosting the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park today with game time at one ten in the afternoon. If you're planning to catch the game, Sound Transit is offering special Sounder service from communities throughout the Seattle area to get you to the ballpark.Looking ahead to next weekend, keep an eye on Saturday, May ninth, when Sporting KC takes on the Portland Timbers.
