In this episode of Journey of Hope, host Elio Constantine sits down with Heart for Lebanon’s founder and CEO, Camille Melki, for an inspiring and insightful conversation on the ministry’s Mission and Leadership program—an initiative focused on raising up grassroots leaders to make disciples in their own communities. What began as a natural outgrowth of Heart for Lebanon’s ministry has become a powerful movement of equipping men and women who, after encountering the Gospel, are eager to share it with others. Rather than creating a traditional leadership track, the program was born from real questions being asked on the ground: How can I follow Christ faithfully? How can I disciple others? Where do I begin?Camille shares how the program is uniquely built from context to content—shaped by the realities of ministry in Lebanon and the surrounding region. Participants are not just trained in theory but are actively engaged in disciple-making throughout the process. Many are already leading home-based Bible studies, reaching their families, neighbors, and communities—even as they themselves are being discipled. With an initial cohort of 70 participants across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, the program follows a three-year cycle focused on biblical formation, character development, and life skills training. Today, that impact is multiplying, with dozens of home groups forming and leaders being sent out across Lebanon, the Middle East, and even globally. As Heart for Lebanon approaches its 20th anniversary, this episode also looks ahead to 2026—a milestone year marked by vision for expansion, deeper church partnerships, and increased discipleship efforts. The ministry is already working alongside 50 local churches, strengthening their ability to make disciples and sustain healthy, growing communities of faith. But the work is not without cost. Many of these emerging leaders come from Muslim backgrounds and face significant challenges, including persecution and rejection. This episode is a call to stand with them in prayer—for strength, protection, perseverance, and continued boldness in their faith. Ultimately, this conversation highlights a powerful truth: when people are equipped, empowered, and sent, the Gospel spreads far beyond the walls of any one ministry.Show Notes:The Vision Behind Mission and Leadership Born organically from the ministry’s disciple-making effortsResponding to individuals eager to share their faithFocused on raising leaders within their own communitiesA Unique Approach to Training Built from context to content, not theory alone Three-year cycle: biblical formation, character, and life skillsEmphasis on active, ongoing disciple-makingMultiplying Impact Started with 70 participants across two regionsDozens of home-based Bible studies now activeLeaders reaching communities locally and globallyLooking Ahead to 2026Celebrating 20 years of ministryExpanding partnerships with 50+ local churchesLaunching new programs and increasing discipleship effortsChallenges and Prayer NeedsMany leaders face persecution and social rejectionNeed for spiritual growth, resilience, and protectionOngoing support through prayer and engagementKey TakeawaysDisciple-making is most powerful when it happens locallyLeadership grows through both training and actionThe Gospel continues to spread through faithful, equipped individuals 📧 Email: podcast@heartforlebanon.org🙏 Submit prayer requests: prayer@heartforlebanon.org🔗 Join the prayer list: https://heartforlebanon.org/prayer📬 Join the email list: https://heartforlebanon.org/emailsignupFollow Heart for Lebanon:🌍 Website: https://heartforlebanon.org📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heartforlebanon📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HeartforLebanon🐦 Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/HeartForLebanon#JourneyOfHope #HeartForLebanon #MissionAndLeadership #Discipleship #FaithInAction #MiddleEast #ChristianPodcast #HeartForLebanon #Lebanon #Missions
