The Synastry of William Randolph Hearst and Marion Davies

Episode 176: The Astrology of William Randolph Hearst & Marion Davies — Hollywood's Most Unconventional Power Couple In episode 176, astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield explore one of Hollywood's most unconventional power couples: media mogul William Randolph Hearst and actress Marion Davies. We start with Hearst, a Taurus Rising with Sun, Pluto, and Mercury in Taurus — a man built for accumulation and control. His Uranus in Gemini fueled his empire as a communication titan, while Pluto conjunct his Sun hints at the manipulation and extremes that defined his life, from incomprehensible wealth to a staggering $126 million debt. In Davies' chart, a rare Pluto-Mars conjunction in Gemini (both retrograde) reveals the explosive intensity beneath her public charm, while her Capricorn placements transformed her into a shrewd businesswoman despite early career obstacles linked to a persistent stutter. Together, they share a grand earth trine between both their Suns and Moons — creating an almost unshakeable material partnership. They've got the coveted Venus/Mars conjunctions in plucky, fun Gemini (their relationship must have come alive at parties). And his Jupiter trine her Venus cast her as his muse and bankrolled her lavish lifestyle. But her Pluto-Mars square his Moon gave her the emotional upper hand, making the power dynamic seemingly lopsided. And Jupiter squares from either side created space for overindulgence and God-like confidence. Is this a story of true love, or simply a business arrangement? Listen in to hear what Venus Score we assign to this enigmatic Hollywood dynasty.
