In the Summer of 2017, Netflix released a film called, “Veronica.” This foreign film quickly became a sensation across the streaming platform as a scary film that people would dare their friends to watch. It evoked memories of “The Exorcist,” a film that felt so real it would unnerve the viewers to the point that they felt compelled to shut it off. Why did it feel so real?
