Arkansas Police Officer Dies Saving Fiancée, Hours After He Proposed

A heartbreaking, yet beautiful love story is emerging out of Arkansas. 24-year-old Arkansas police officer Fred Marsh proposed to his girlfriend of three years and then went on a canoe trip with another couple to celebrate. Within hours of his proposal, his brand new fiancée, Hailey,  struggled while in the water and Marsh immediately jumped into the river to push her towards the canoe, and to safety.  Unfortunately, Marsh then struggled, became exhausted, and slipped under the water, never to come back up again alive.
