Daily Devo | Into the Heart of the Empire (New Testament in a Year, Acts 28:17-31)

As Paul finally arrives in Rome, we are able to reflect on many of the themes that converge in this moment. Despite Paul’s house arrest, we see the continuing fulfillment of Acts 1:8, that the message of Jesus would go out even to the ends of the earth. We also see the power of the Holy Spirit, accomplishing what no person could do on their own. And we also see, once again, that faithfulness to Jesus does not mean smooth sailing.
