A woman who died almost eight hundred years ago is still, by more than one account, walking a stretch of road in Leicestershire. In this Dark Matters case, a bus once pulled in for her at a shelter opposite Grace Dieu Priory, the doors opened, and nobody got on, because by the time the driver looked, she'd already gone.The White Lady has been seen at the same forty yards of road across decades: a family in a horse-drawn carriage in 1926, an off-duty police constable in 1981, a family driving home in 1990, and, more than once, officers who say a hooded figure simply appeared in the back seat of a parked patrol car.
