Brittany Renee Williams was seven years old when she disappeared from Henrico County, Virginia, in 2000. She was living with the woman who ran Rainbow Kids, a home for children with serious medical conditions, and required ongoing treatment for HIV. But when Brittany vanished, nobody reported her missing.For more than two years, her Social Security and Medicaid benefits continued to be collected while conflicting stories were told about where she had gone. By the time investigators finally opened a missing-person case, the trail was already years old.Searches produced no remains, and no one has ever been charged in connection with her disappearance.
