In this video I will be talking extensively about Biringan City, a legendary city said to be invisible to humans and populated by engkanto, beings that are very similar to fairies in Celtic folklore. Biringan is said to be hidden somewhere within the forests and mountains of Samar, an ultramodern (even futuristic) city, where buildings, clothing, and food is black. You can happen upon it by accident, glimpse it in the shifting sea-mists, or perhaps be ‘invited’ by an engkanto who has fallen in love with you.The engkanto are said to look mostly human, except that they are extremely beautiful and lacking a philtrum. But to court them is to invite danger. You could go mad, fall ill, or disappear–wandering into the forest never to be seen again.I will be reading information and personal accounts from essays and different online material such as Reddit, the USC Folklore archives, and Liminal Earth. Tonight I’ll be reading eight stories from the Fairy Census, an academic research effort to collect anonymous first-hand experiences with fairies. Besides all of these stories having to do with fairies, they also all take place in the kitchen.✶ To view/download the Fairy Census, click here.✶ To submit to the Fairy Census, click here.✶ For additional content, check my Patreon.✶ you can contact me at goblinkwain@gmail.com
Tonight I’ll be continuing my series reading stories from Liminal Earth (https://liminal.earth/). These first-hand paranormal encounters describe screaming in the woods, workplace doppelgangers, lantern-toting phantoms and more…✶ For more videos in my Liminal Earth series, click here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUuAc1Cmc1NB15Rm1oTdTU6P0yHSWTVYq&si=_NOpNp7NmVJbgwF9 ✶ For additional content, check Patreon: patreon.com/GoblinKwainAll music by Goblin Kwain & J Sease

Tonight I’ll be reading accounts from the Fairy Census, an ongoing academic research project conducted by Dr. Simon Young. This survey gathers and presents anonymous encounters with fairies. You may have a certain image in your head of what a fairy looks like, but this variety of experiences will show that fairies are perceived to take a whole host of forms.✶ for more episodes of me reading accounts from the Fairy Census, check this playlist.✶ to read the Fairy Census, click here.✶ to submit to the Fairy Census, click here.✶ to read Simon’s article on Fairy Encounters of the Third Kind, click here.✶ you can contact me at goblinkwain@gmail.com✶ for additional content, check Patreon.
In this episode I’ll be reading experiences and comments on Reddit about people remembering seeing a green hand as a child. The similarities in the stories and the way this idea or memory resonated with so many people fascinated me, and I felt compelled to make this episode. As well as reading the stories and marking similarities, I’ll also touch on pop culture references brought up that may have induced this imagery, and muse on the role that the green severed hand has had in our collective subconscious.✶ To watch the video version on YouTube, click here.✶ For more on the Hairy Hands of Dartmoor, I suggest checking out this episode of the Fairy Whispering Podcast.✶ for more content, check Patreon.✶ you can contact me at goblinkwain@gmail.com✶ music by goblin kwain
In this episode I’ll be reading several stories of first-hand paranormal encounters from websites Your Ghost Stories and Reddit. The topics of these accounts include bizarre but oddly common experiences such as seeing people made of TV static, witnessing a flying witch on a broomstick, and childhood levitation. In between the stories I’ll share my thoughts and musings and read additional encounters related in the comments of each forum.✶ you can contact me at goblinkwain@gmail.com✶ for additional content, check Patreon.✶ music by goblin kwain
Tonight I’ll be reading stories from Reddit where people claimed to have seen Santa Claus. We all know that Santa isn’t real, so what are people experiencing? Is it simply childhood imagination, or something stranger? I’ll also read a couple of encounters from the Fairy Census where people recount seeing fairies dancing around their Christmas presents as children. In Victorian England it was a Christmas tradition to gather around the fire and exchange ghost stories–let’s revive the ‘spirit’ of Christmas with some supernatural tales.✶ To view my source list, click here.✶ you can contact me at goblinkwain@gmail.commusic by goblin kwain
I collect first-hand paranormal encounters that I find and present them with genuine interest, casual analysis, and correlating folklore. My intention is to curate tales that highlight the aspect of human experience that I find most interesting–the otherworldly and unexplainable. For as long as there have been humans, there have been fairies, ghosts, strange animals, supernatural abilities, and stories about them. The classic setting in which these tales are told are by the fire. Consider this your digital hearth-side. Pull up a chair, and listen to stories best told by candlelight. Please check my YouTube channel for additional uploads: https://youtube.com/@goblinkwain?si=jR6KfAEE229W9FXe
