For the first episode of our 2026 series, Jeremy spoke to Dearborn, MI's ambient/space rock legends Windy & Carl in advance of their upcoming run of shows here in the Denver area. Formed in 1993 by the husband-and-wife duo of bassist/singer Windy Weber and guitarist Carl Hultgren, their achingly beautiful minimalist compositions draw heavily from Spacemen 3, My Bloody Valentine and krautrock bands like Can and Neu!. They were kind enough to walk us through their over-three decade-long career as outsider art heroes and their recent return to live performance.Windy & Carl will be performing Saturday, May 16th at The Hayloft in Longmont with Chaz Prymek, Matthew Sage and New Standards Men and Sunday, May 17th at The Bug Theatre in Denver with Ritger and Weathers. We are proud to be co-presenting these shows with our friends at OneStraw and tickets are available at https://cached.media/onestraw .Windy & Carl's latest album, Heavy Early & The Creation of Venus, was released through their own Blue Flea label in 2024. You can delve into their expansive discography at https://windyandcarl.bandcamp.com/This episode features clips from "Set Adrift" from Depths and "Ode To A Dog" from The Dream House / Dedications To Flea.Presented by Wax Trax Records
