Episode Description from the Publisher

For this episode of the Ghost Canyon Fest podcast, Jeremy and Sean were joined by Dan Caldas and Mike Kanin of the legendary Washington D.C. band Black Eyes. Formed in 2001, the dual-vocal/dual-bass/dual-drum band released an incredible self-titled debut through Dischord Records in 2003 which showcased their frenetic approach to dub-influenced post punk. After an extensive touring and recording schedule, the band broke up in 2004 shortly before the release of their second album "Cough", which saw them add saxophone and push their sound further into experimental territory. They returned in 2023 for the 20th anniversary of their debut to huge acclaim, playing a handful of dates across the US and publishing a zine called Speaking In Tongues, which chronicles the history of the band and includes a selection of demos and live recordings documenting their original run.Black Eyes will headline the Saturday, Aug 23 edition of the fest at Hi-Dive.
