This is the last episode of Season 1! Tune in to hear about my amazing retreat last month and how I learned (again) that over-stressing doesn't do any good. Everything works out in the end! If you thought last week's episode was messy, don't listen to this one. LOL I took this audio from a video I recorded and was planning on posting to social media last week. However, after fighting with the apps for far longer than I care to admit, I decided to just extract the audio, do a VERY rough edit on it, and publish it as this week's episode. In it I talk about my friend Amanda's "It's a Miracle Movement", review ways you can help support Lincoln in current fundraisers, and explain miracles that have filled us with gratitude lately. Some of the information is out of date (for example, the yard sale already happened--and it was a big success!). However, I decided to still share this with you because there is also great new information--especially about Lincoln's most recent oncology followup appointment. The two other ways I mention that you can help--Lincoln's LLS Visionaries of the Year campaign and our "Cards for a Cause" fundraiser--are still going! I thought they ended on the 15th, but they actually go through this Friday (May 17th). Please click on the links below, and donate/order if you can!!!! With so much love, Becca Lincoln's LLS VOY Fundraising Campaign: https://pages.lls.org/voy/ut/utahlls24/lingersoll Our "Cards for a Cause" Fundraiser: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfIXBr5eFqgAs6NbLPmu69gHXcSroM-atmZvp2GVKpz41aJRw/viewform
This episode is short, messy, and full of uncomfortable moments (because I ask for y'all's help). However, I'm willing to work hard, make mistakes, and feel uncomfortable for our childhood cancer warrior and others like him! There are several ways you can help us over the next couple of weeks. As many of you know, Lincoln is Utah's Honored Hero this year for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Visionaries of the Year campaign. This fundraising campaign ends next week, and we would be SOOOOO APPRECIATIVE if you'd be willing to donate!!!!! Help us support other families going through blood cancer treatments. Here is the link to Lincoln's LLS VOY fundraising campaign if you want to donate directly: https://pages.lls.org/voy/ut/utahlls24/lingersoll We are also holding two fundraisers, and the money raised will go toward Link's LLS fundraiser. Fundraiser #1: Cards for a Cause https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfIXBr5eFqgAs6NbLPmu69gHXcSroM-atmZvp2GVKpz41aJRw/viewform?usp=sf_link Fundraiser #2: Yard/Bake Sale Fundraiser We're having a big yard/bake sale fundraiser at our house this Saturday (May 11th) from 8 AM to 12 PM. Welcome back! In this episode I explain what I've been up to for the past few weeks and why I think it's been so difficult for me to publish a new episode and move forward on some goals. Why do we sometimes feel such great resistance in life? What do we do about it? Listen in to hear my thoughts. Also, if you haven't already, message me your email address to get on my newsletter list! I only send one or two a quarter. You've heard me talk a lot about the podcasting course I took from Cathy Heller in the fall. As part of that course, we were each assigned to an accountability group, and I lucked out with mine! We meet virtually almost every single Wednesday to share ideas and cheer each other on. These ladies are the best!!! In this episode you get to hear from all of them (Alison, Penny, and Robin) in addition to me. We each share and answer questions related to our podcasts and have fun getting to know each other better. Here's a bit of info about each of my podmates: Alison Fraser currently lives in New Zealand. She's a fellow redhead and book lover, and she has TWO podcasts! Here are the Spotify links: https://open.spotify.com/show/7A8kHvPgKmM4Lj4bRujDqm?si=WgW9OqskTceWUtrIzOsAHw https://open.spotify.com/show/2g1atBK7beDnrVGyDPEOJk?si=fVQzxrqiRNOtRLomiJv4uw Penny Fitzgerald divides her time between Florida and Iowa, and she absolutely loves spending time with family and friends while sharing excellent conversations. Here's a link to her podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1gJVmb5HyndS6EXmtnm1y1?si=VlRmps_3SLGgnluLN7wUpA Robin Hackney lives in Kansas. She's passionate about fitness and wine, and I've recently joined her virtual Bikini Boot Camp Challenge to prepare for summer! Here's the link to her podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/29aMg68yroSKpSSlh4gyP2?si=4LfoykgcSxOu2SLOmoSDig All of these ladies' podcasts can also be found on Apple Podcasts. If you're serious about reaching your goals, I HIGHLY recommend getting yourself some accountability mates!!!
In this episode I read one of my old blog articles that I wrote at the end of Lincoln's cancer treatment. This Sunday, Link will have been done with treatment for TWO WHOLE YEARS!!!! 🤗 We are ever so grateful. Lincoln's Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser is going on now! It goes through the middle of May. If you would be willing to donate just $2 to his campaign this week, it would make us so happy!!!! If each of my listeners did that, it would really make a difference. In this interview I talk to my amazing friend Suzanne Andora Barron, who wears many hats. She’s president and founder of a foundation, The Christopher Barron Live Life Foundation, which she started in honor of her little boy, Christopher, who passed at the age of 9 from leukemia. The Foundation offers comic creation workshops to underserved kids. To date, her foundation has helped more than 1,200 children discover the power of their imagination. Suzanne’s also a yoga instructor, a meditation coach, and a certified Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner. She’s been teaching yoga, meditation and breathwork for 12 years and Jin Shin Jyutsu, an ancient Japanese healing modality, for eight. These practices helped Suzanne in the dark years following her son’s death. Suzanne is an adjunct professor of Yoga at Bergen Community College in Northern NJ where she teaches high school and college students Yoga for Stress Management. She is finishing up a memoir called Finding Joy in the Midst of Hard and recently launched a podcast called Finding Joy in the Hard. I'm back! Sorry about my unplanned hiatus last week. My family was dealing with a cold that moved through all of us, but we're mostly back to normal. In this episode I summarize my awesome VERY FIRST Reading Retreat and the things I learned from it. 😊 Here's the link to my friend's podcast episode where she interviewed me: https://open.spotify.com/episode/6ACF94eJl2hfJqYLf6m2xy?si=EwOWfncQQ9alwv-mBAP_cQ
