Ep 1256 | Stephen A Smith MOCKS Lane Johnson Retirement, EMBARRASSES ESPN, Then Plays Victim

Stephen A. Smith mocked Lane Johnson's mid-season retirement on "First Take," questioned his anxiety-driven break, embarrassed ESPN, then played victim and claimed his words were misconstrued. Jason Whitlock dissects the original soundbite, the calculated YouTube apology, rare on-air pushback from ESPN colleagues Kimberley Martin and Emmanuel Acho, and Dan Le Batard's scathing indictment of hot-take media that rewards cruelty over truth and exposes a broken debate machine. Plus: Caitlin Clark's candid exit interview and profane celebration. Meanwhile, horrendous officiating overshadowed Angel Reese, and the Dream moved within one victory of the WNBA Finals. ➢ Show Outline 00:00 - Intro plus Stephen A.
