Tonight, Tuesday on FADE to BLACK: Dr. Doug Buettner joins us for a compelling deep dive into the world of aerospace, UAP science, and firsthand anomalous experiences. As Deputy Chief Scientist supporting Pentagon innovation and a former Aerospace Corporation veteran with decades in advanced space systems, Doug brings extraordinary technical insight to the UAP conversation. We explore his family's connection to the 1947 UFO wave, strange experiences near Skinwalker Ranch, his scientific analysis of high-profile UAP cases, work with Ben Hansen and SCU, and what upcoming government disclosures may reveal about the future of the phenomenon. Dr. Douglas J. Buettner is the Deputy Chief Scientist of the Acquisition Innovation Research Center (AIRC)—a multi-university applied research center led by the Stevens Institute of Technology. Dr. Buettner is an also adjunct professor in the University of Utah's Mechanical Engineering Department, teaching space mission engineering and has over 30 years of industry experience in the engineering of aerospace systems for the Department of Defense (DOD) and NASA. He spent 20-years of his career with The Aerospace Corporation supporting spacecraft and rocket development contracts, including stints working in the Pentagon and analyzing satellite imagery. Dr. Buettner started his career as a consultant for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), building JPL's first aerogel fabrication facility. Where his research supported the selection of JPL's STARDUST mission concept as NASA's fourth Discovery mission which successfully brought back to Earth cometary dust samples for analysis. His autoclave system made the aerogel that successfully captured and returned to the Earth, those cometary dust particles. Which first confirmed that some of life's building blocks could be found in space. In the area of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), he is a board member of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU) (explorescu.org) and frequently gives talks at their conference on his current research. He is a co-founder and the chief technologist for SIGHTER.io, an innovative patent pending mobile phone application for crowd-sourced triangulation and reporting of UAPs in support of their identification. He also owns property near Skinwalker Ranch for his own independent research. Dr. Buettner has B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics, with a one year as a post-baccalaureate in geology and he has minor in atmospheric science all from Oregon State University. His Ph.D. is from the University of Southern California's Viterbi School of Engineering in astronautical engineering. He is also a Sr. Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). WEBSITES: https://github.com/DrDougB Air Date: May 19, 2026
