In Red Rooms, Kelly-Anne becomes consumed by the trial of Ludovic Chevalier, accused of broadcasting the murders of teenage girls in such a room. Director Pascal Plante has said his inspiration came not from the dark web itself, but from the phenomenon of people who become fans of killers — the groupies who haunt trials and online forums.
