What if all this healing was never supposed to make life painless? Maybe we reparent ourselves so we can become capable of participating in the whole experience of love and grief, hope and disappointment, work and celebration, beginnings and endings. This week, during Dr. Rey's 50th birthday shenanigans, I'm taking inventory of a life that contains things we once weren't sure we'd ever get to experience. Because sometimes the ceiling we lived beneath wasn't the sky. And sometimes the greatest evidence of our growth is realizing: Holy S**T. I'm standing inside a life I once thought was impossible.
