It's been a while! Desmond is back, and Duane is with him to review the "live-streamed" murder spree film, Spree. Then, Des finally got his killer chimpanzee movie in his review of Primate. Mostly new tunes too: "Kill Switch" by Hoaxed, "Killing Spree" by Death, "Unclean Animals" by Rob Zombie, and "Untethered" by Neurosis. Send feedback to: dreadmediapodcast@gmail.com. The 2026 slate for Hey, an Actor! inevitably starts with a well-known comedic actor of Hollywood pedigree: New Jersey's greatest short man, Danny DeVito. The Brothers Wilson skillfully navigate his Taxi sitcom days by covering his film dedicated to his former co-star, Andy Kaufman, in Man on the Moon, as well as one of his first post-Taxi cinematic supporting roles in Romancing the Stone, and his directorial effort in bringing Roald Dahl's Matilda to the silver screen. Along the way, Pandy introduces a new character, Ian learns a new synonym for "taint," and Jerry Lawler is discussed just enough not to worry the podcast's legal budget. Oh, and there's a song parody that sounds unintentionally Muppet-esque.
It's our annual animation episode! The unholy melding of 1980s pop and Canadian animation provide a timeless tale of good v evil, but evil is brought to us by Lou Reed and Iggy Pop, so we're okay with it, in 1983's Rock and Rule! Then, one of our intrepid band will rock the earth to its very foundations as we cover the 1968 classic Yellow Submarine!Email: info@channel-37.comTwitter: @WHXN37
Ancient colossi from beyond the dawn of time do battle for the very soul of humanity. Also, can we just pick up our shit, please, in 1971's Godzilla v the Smog Monster. After that, Kevin Bacon, Earth's Greatest Hero, is all that stands between us and certain death by shai-hulud in 1990's Tremors. How many ways can four people pronounce Hedorah? The answer will amaze you!Email: info@channel-37.comTwitter: @WHXN37
This week we get our metal on as Duane and Des review the sequel to their favorite heavy metal comedy, Heavy Trip, in Heavier Trip. Then Desmond goes solo on a review of last weekend's Megadeth concert in Victoria BC with Anthrax and Exodus. Songs included: "Kuusamo" and "Flooding Secrations" by Impaled Rektum, "Dread and the Fugitive Mind" by Megadeth, and "Red Asphalt" by Exhumed. Send feedback to: dreadmediapodcast@gmail.com. You know how Christmas comes later each yeah? Well, The Brothers Wilson take this concept to the extreme with Hey, An Actor's End of Year 2025 special in mid-February 2026! With customary apologies, the episode contains what you've come to love and expect with outtakes, Christian's Casting Challenge, and the Tomlinson Awards. Beyond that, the hosts also set the episode around the filmography of the multi-faceted John C Reilly. On the docket are the music biopic mockumentary Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and his most famous double team project with Will Ferrell in Stepbrothers. How do the actual brothers feel about these films and life in general? Find out by listening in before normal service resumes!
While we would never want to accuse anyone of wrapping themselves in religion to justify acts of violence and terror, Hammer Films and Tigon Pictures were not as circumspect as we. However, it does give us the opportunity to see Christopher Lee go full Batman villain in 1966's Rasputin the Mad Monk. After that, Vincent Price actually manages not to go full Batman villain in 1968's Witchfinder General.Email: info@channel-37.comTwitter: @WHXN37
'Ello, 'ello, 'ello! Christian, Kelly, and Pandy are back to ride the east wind through Mary Poppins - one of Disney's most beloved yet bittersweet films. Is it still supercalifragilisticexpialidocious or is it, in short, a ghastly mess?
