Breakfast, Drag, and Radiators

Once again Stacy is in a good mood (read talkative). She’s on the heels of another trip and Eric is in his usual bemused with a dash of salty mood. Stacy shares stories about her stay at The Brewster House in Freeport, Maine (home to L.L. Bean) and the really freaking good breakfasts made by Dave! Somehow the conversation devolves into topics from the Gideon Bible and Rocky Raccoon to the mattress/pillow app and having luggage scales at every hotel/motel/b&b for souvenir happy travelers. Inside of focusing on these potential Shark Tank-worthy endevors, Eric and Battersea have practiced and are ready for their show at The Valley in Tacoma where they’re sharing the stage with The Honey Bee Breakfast and The Lame-O-Sexuals. Poor Eric tried to promote it but the Facebook AI bots kept flagging the ad…interesting since top AI execs are flagging AI in general – hmm. The exciting news is DAMTT got an email from listener Wes from PETA who was tickled by Eric using one of their animal-friendly phrases!! A listener and fun SWAG, yes please! For their CBS, Stacy went back in time a bit first to the early 80’s with Absence of Malice with a dreamy Paul Newman and Sally Field. A smart movie a la All the President’s Men with a premise about accuracy versus truth in journalism; a topic that still resonates today. Her second choice was To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar with Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes and John Leguizamo, a surprisingly poignant story about drag queens and their unexpected and at first unwelcome stop in middle America. Eric also watched two movies, David Lynch’s first movie from 1977, Eraserhead and packed-to-the-rafters with new (then) new talent, The Outsiders. Eric was surprised by how much he liked the former and by how much more he hoped for from the latter. As for new games, Eric showed how hip he is by suggesting chess and Stacy recommended Hitster because she IS hip!
