It reminded me just how much I detest the annual flu vaccination campaign, especially for school children.I already wrote a Substack article on this, so in this episode I unpack all the propaganda and one way messaging that parents receive from GPs, hospitals, public health bodies, local health authorities, schools and the media. Everyone is pushing the flu vaccine, but using the government's own data, the real picture looks very different.Children have a less than 1 in 100,000 risk of being hospitalised and a less than 1 in 1,000,000 risk of dying from flu. Most serious complications happen in children under two or those with underlying health conditions, not in healthy school aged kids.I get into informed consent, the safety and efficacy data (or the lack of it), the commercial incentives behind vaccination campaigns, and why I think questioning one vaccine gets treated as questioning the whole field.I want parents to have the full picture so they can make their own informed decision, rather than just following the script.See my substack for more details.Thank you for being here, enjoy the episode.Independent.
