Episode 239 - Roots of Redemption with Brian Eubanks of Growlersburg Conservation Camp and Arborist Program

Korey and Joe sit down with Brian Eubanks of Growlersburg Conservation Camp and Arborist Program. Brian and the guys discuss the reentry program at Growlersburg Conversation Camp #33. The program is jointly operated by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and CAL FIRE. The program works to not only train incarcerated individuals to become fully qualified firefighters, but has crews of incarcerated firefighters that operate under the direction of CAL FIRE. In addition to training firefighters, crews at the facility gain specialized instruction, including pathways toward arborist certifications and related wood/lumber processing skills utilized in conservation and community projects. The program works to help rehabilitate incarcerated people by providing them skills training and pathways to certifications to have the opportunity to find a new career path once released. In addition to Brian Eubanks, Korey and Joe are also joined by; Americo Aguirre (Incarcerated Person), Ernest Harmon (ARC Reentry Specialist), Marcus Williams (ARC Credible Messenger), and Lt.
