The Men Behind the International Dogman Project — Nick Valente & Jay Fountain

What happens when you spend years investigating something most people refuse to believe exists? How do you separate fact from fiction, evidence from speculation, and the truth from what we think we know about the unknown?   On this episode of Cryptid Warfare Podcast, we’re joined once again by Nick Valente and Jay Fountain, the men behind the International Dogman Project (IDP), for our third conversation together!   This time, we’re going beyond the encounters and field tactics to explore the minds, experiences, and theories of two men who have dedicated themselves to investigating the unexplained.   Nick brings his military background, years of research, and experience as an author, while Jay brings his own perspective, life experiences, and Native American heritage to a discussion that goes deeper than the typical cryptid interview.   IN THIS EPISODE, WE EXPLORE:   BEYOND THE ENCOUNTERS — After years of investigating the unknown, what are Nick and Jay really trying to discover? Have their beliefs changed since they first started?   THE PSYCHOLOGY OF THE UNKNOWN — How do investigators distinguish credible eyewitness testimony from misidentification, memory, and speculation? And what happens to someone psychologically after experiencing something they cannot explain?   NATIVE AMERICAN PERSPECTIVES — How has Jay’s background influenced his personal understanding of the unknown? We explore Indigenous traditions, stories, and perspectives while discussing the importance of respecting cultural knowledge.   MILITARY EXPERIENCE & INVESTIGATION — How does Nick’s military background influence his approach to investigating unexplained phenomena? Does training make someone more skeptical, more observant, or both?   BEHIND NICK VALENTE’S BOOKS — We discuss the inspiration behind his writing, documenting the unexplained, and what he hopes readers will take away from his work.   WHAT IF WE’RE WRONG? — Are all Dogman reports describing the same phenomenon? Could there be multiple explanations for what people are experiencing? What would it take to change our minds?   THE FUTURE OF CRYPTID RESEARCH — If money and resources were unlimited, how would we investigate the Dogman phenomenon scientifically? What evidence would it take to move the conversation forward?   THE QUESTIONS NOBODY ASKS — We challenge Nick and Jay to examine their own beliefs, discuss disagreements, reconsider possibilities, and explain what they think the cryptid community gets wrong.   This isn’t just another conversation about sightings and encounters. It’s a deeper look at the people behind the investigations, the questions that remain unanswered, and the possibility that we still don’t fully understand what we’re dealing with.   Because sometimes, the most important question isn’t whether something exists. It’s whether we’re prepared to accept that our understanding of it might be completely wrong.   Join Cryptid Warfare Podcast as we go beyond the encounters and into the unknown with Nick Valente and Jay Fountain of the International Dogman Project!   DROP A COMMENT!   Do you believe Dogman is an undiscovered biological creature, something we haven’t yet learned to explain, or a phenomenon that challenges our understanding of reality?   And if you had the opportunity to ask Nick and Jay ONE question about Dogman that nobody has asked them before, what would it be?   REAL PEOPLE.
