Jon Harris examines Russell Brand’s new book “How to Become a Christian in Seven Days,” published by Tucker Carlson Books. While acknowledging some positive elements, Jon warns that the book mixes truth with serious theological errors, New Age influences, and a dangerous conflation of political “red-pilling” with genuine spiritual regeneration.Jon discusses the difference between a true biblical Great Awakening and the current wave of celebrity spirituality, the proper understanding of sin, repentance, faith, and the gospel, and why political awakening is not the same as spiritual revival. To Support the Podcast: https://www.jonharrismedia.com/support/Become a Patronhttps://www.patreon.com/jonharrispodcastSubstack: https://substack.com/@jonharris Follow Jon on Twitter: https://twitter.com/jonharris1989Follow Jon on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jonharris1989/Our Sponsors:* Check out Mars Men and use my code Mengotomars.com for a great deal: https://mengotomars.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/conversations-that-matter8971/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Sam Allberry's views on Same Sex Attraction have been controversial for years. Within the evangelical movement, Allberry proports to value singles and same-sex attracted people while still holding a high position of marriage and family. This is attractive to many who want orthodox doctrine without what they see as a stereotypical judgmental attitude. Unfortunately, Sam Allberry's theology was more than inadequate. It lead people to make peace with a sinful orientation and receive consequences for those sins as if the consequences were signs of sacrificial godliness. There is a better way for those who struggle with same-sex attraction, homosexual orientation, gay feelings, or whatever term they use to describe their sinful desires.
Jon Harris examines the state of the American church in 2026 — a time of spiritual interest among Gen Z, rising Bible sales, and public figures talking about Christianity, yet mixed with confusion, pastoral failures, and the risk of counterfeit revival. Drawing from statistics, personal reflections, and Scripture, Jon calls Christians to stand faithfully with the true church, prioritize the gospel, and focus on making disciples rather than platforms or politics. A sober yet hopeful message for believers navigating this cultural moment. 0:00 Introduction & Prayer1:40 Convictions: The Church Will Prevail4:20 Suspicions: Spiritual Awakening or Counterfeit?7:15 What Confuses Me – Loss of Key Leaders10:45 Statistics on Gen Z & Religious Interest13:50 Signs of True Revival – Church Growth, Pastors, Giving16:40 The Pastor Problem & Political Temptation22:30 Celebrity “Conversions” & Cultural Christianity27:15 Dangers of Theological Softening32:40 Real Hope – People Are Open to the Gospel37:50 Practical Pastoral Wisdom43:20 The Road to Emmaus – Walking by Faith49:30 Closing: Next Steps for the Church Our Sponsors:* Check out Mars Men and use my code Mengotomars.com for a great deal: https://mengotomars.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/conversations-that-matter8971/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Jon Harris discusses the Supreme Court’s major Voting Rights Act ruling that limits racial gerrymandering and could deliver Republicans additional congressional seats, the latest Trump assassination attempt and the shooter’s manifesto, and why Christians must reject conspiracy-driven narratives that blame Jews or Israel for everything. He also covers the state of the American church, encouraging signs in Bible reading and attendance, Southern Baptist controversies including women pastors and the Will McRaney case, Virginia redistricting battles, cultural issues like marriage intimacy and demographics, and more. In this episode, we examine the historiography of the Lost Cause from the original post-war vindications, to the North-South reconciliation truce of the early 20th century, to how modern professional historians reframed it as a dangerous “myth.” We also discuss Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger’s recent laws targeting Confederate heritage groups and Robert E. Lee license plates, and why the ongoing erasure of Southern symbols represents a deeper fracture in American identity.Substack Post: https://substack.com/home/post/p-1945150750:00 Introduction & The Political Attack on Confederate Heritage 3:45 What Is Historiography?
